Samuel's going
to a place far away
packed his life in an old hessian bag
sailing on a rickety old boat
going to find a new place to live
but the sea has other
plans
black sea
deep
raging waves
splash of salt water
hits his face
nervous now
winds pick up
disorientated
which way
land in the distance
in his rickety boat
a journey full of promise
yet not any more
why did he ever think he could make it
threatening
he is scared, no one to tell
and all around
the sea is vast
menacing
it knows his fear
clouds descend
he sits awhile
leave it to chance
he calls to the air
resigned to the fact, this is how it must be
this is my journey
Samuel?
they'll say many years from now
the boy who sailed the sea
will anyone really remember?
