Clock tower
but time stands still—on
an insignificant hour
and the world continues to pass by
unaware—
men in suits, sleek mobile languidly held to the ear
talking to a dealer about which car best suits him
while at home—
someone waits
her dreams cast aside so long ago
she doesn't even recognise the person
who stares back in the reflection of the window
she's just cleaned
her days spent in mndane
ordinary mind numbing
nothingness—
until
that time
kids get home and ask her
what's for snack,
for dinner—
not even a how was your day?
And her favourite,
why can't you get a real job—
clock tower stands still
when you have nowhere you need to be
